I was an intern in the People Team (HR) in the United Kingdom at their office in Luton. The team was very helpful and everyone supported me in making sure my projects were useful to the company. My projects were very diverse around topics like graduate recruitment, engagement, induction and benefits. This really allowed me to get a good picture of Human Resources at such a big company.
Being an intern at AB InBev gave me the opportunity to work abroad in a global company with global brands and it was a fantastic way to get to know the company’s culture and to see if I could see myself working there in the future. Even as a recent graduate who did an internship, I got involved in all kind of interesting projects which allowed me to show my strengths and get visibility inside the company.
Next to my tasks as an intern, I also got the opportunity to participate in training sessions with trainees and other new starters. Being an intern in the People Team also gave me the opportunity to see the other departments in the company. This really helped me to define where I would see myself in the future and which career paths I could take to get there. I started this February as a Trainee at AB InBev in the Netherlands so I can say that doing an internship was one of the best choices in my life resulting in a job at the biggest FMCG company in the world!
